Shri Mangueshi Temple - Located on a hillock surrounded by lush green hills in Priol, the North of the Ponda taluka. The distance from the capital city can be counted as 22kms, Dedicated to Lord Shiva it is believed that Lord Shiva came to Goa after losing everything to Parvati in the game of dice. Originally, the deity i.e. Lord Shiva, was kept in a temple at Cortalim but was bought here to Shiva, it from being destroyed. The main idol of the deity in solid gold is placed in a multi-coloured structure with Mohall style domes. There is a 7storyed deepmal (lamp tower) standing tall in front of the temple. To the rear of the temple, stands a wooden chariot used in the annual temple festival.

Shri Saptakoteshwar Temple - Situated in the taluka of Bicholim in the tiny village of Narva (Narve) stands the famous Saptakoteshwar temple. To reach here you have to travel about 42kms from Panaji originally this temple stood on the Divar island but was rebuilt (later) here in Narva to save it from Prtuguese attack. It was then renovated by Maharaja Shivaji. This place has its own history. It is said that there were 7sages called Saptarishi, who performed penance for 7million years to please Lord Shiva, who finally appeared and blessed them personally in the incarnation of Saptakoteshwar. Hence there is a Shivlinga inside the temple.

Mayem Lakes - Drive 36 kms from Panaji to the taluka of Bicholim. Enter the village of Narve, visit the Saptakoteshwar Temple, and then.....Relax yourself at the Mayem Lake. Aravalem Waterfall (Harvalem) - Cascading down from a height of around 50 metres, this waterfall is certainly a treat to the eyes. Situated in the Bicholim taluka, 45 kms away from Panaji and 32 kms from Mapusa. This waterfall is best viewed after the monsoons, when the ferocity of the water is the Rudreshwar Temple, a well known religious destination in the state. A walk of only five minutes takes you to the ancient Buddhist caves. It is believed that thes caves were carved by Buddhist Monks in the early 3rd 6th century AD.

Although, one can experience the flamboyance of this water as late as in the month of April, the best time to be here is the rainy period when huge mass of waterfalls furiously one after the other, unleashing the might of nature.
